Grilled Garlic Toast and Mozzarella with Spaghetti and Basil. This grilled cheese is crunchy, cheesy and deliciously messy.

Grilled Mozzarella Spaghetti Sandwich

What does one do with leftover spaghetti? Make a Grilled Cheese Spaghetti Sandwich of course.

Actually, I have created a few recipes with leftover spaghetti:

Spaghetti Carbonara

Spicy Spaghetti Salad

Spaghetti Frittata

When spaghetti is $1 a box you tend to get creative with it.

Back to this delicious mess of melted cheese and spaghetti noodles between two slices of garlic Texas toast. Seriously, it is so worth getting all spaghetti faced for!

This is carb heaven. That thick garlic Texas Toast was made for spaghetti sandwiches. I don’t recommend using regular sandwich bread. It isn’t strong enough to hold such an epic sandwich together.

Ingredients

  • 1 single serving of spaghetti noodles, cooked
  • 1 single serving of spaghetti sauce, heated
  • 2 slices of frozen Texas Toast Garlic Bread
  • 3-4 slices of fresh mozzarella, room temperature
  • 2-4 basil leaves
  • 1/2 tablespoon of butter.

Instructions

  1. Place 2 slices of frozen Texas Toast in the oven and heat them as directed.
  2. Mix spaghetti noodles with spaghetti sauce.
  3. Heat butter in a rimmed skillet that has a lid on medium heat.
  4. Once the Texas Toast is done place Mozzarella on both pieces of toast.
  5. Add spaghetti and basil leaves to the bottom piece of toast and then top with the remaining toast.
  6. Transfer to the skillet.
  7. Grill the sandwich on each side for 3-4 minutes.
  8. Serve immediately
  9. *If your cheese isn't melted then remove the skillet from the heat and place the lid on the skillet.
  10. Let sit for 3 minutes or until cheese is melted.

Notes

Start with room temperature Mozzarella. The toast coming out of the oven will be hot and will start to melt the cheese. If your cheese does not melt place lid over the skillet and remove from heat. Let the sandwich sit in the skillet for a few minutes to allow the cheese to melt. Because mozzarella slices can vary in thickness and if the method above is not working place in the microwave for 30 seconds.
