The Classic Moscow Mule is a tasty and brisk cocktail that is simple to make with only 3 ingredients. The Classic Moscow Mule is made with fresh squeezed lime juice, vodka and ginger beer. This thirst quenching combination is one that everyone loves.
I love this cocktail. It has been my favorite all Summer. It is thirst quenching and easy to drink especially on a hot day. I can drink one after another. Believe me it is not hard to do. The copper mugs keep the cocktail nice and cold. You don’t need a copper mug but I highly suggest it! You can buy some copper mugs on Amazon for a reasonable price. There are so many to choose from and there are some really pretty ones too!
Summer slipped by and we are still drinking the Classic Moscow Mule. After months of drinking this cocktail we have learned where the cheapest bottle of Svedka Vodka can purchased locally. I call that a win in my book!
We tried out a few different ginger beers and decided on a favorite.
Here are the ginger beers we tried:
Stoli’s Ginger Beer
Gosling’s Ginger Beer
We found the higher the sugar content the better Moscow Mule it made. Go figure! Our favorite was the Gosling’s Ginger Beer. Second was the Stoli’s. With the Fever Tree we had to add sugar to the Moscow Mule. The cocktail was to “spicy” without the sugar to balance it out.
There are so many variations you can make with the Moscow Mule. Here are some of our favorite twist ideas:
- Strawberry Basil Moscow Mule by Our Food Fix
- Blackberry Ginger Moscow Mule by In Good Taste
- Pineapple and Jalapeno Mules by The Young Austinian
