Bourbon Amaretto Sour Cocktail

My Bourbon Amaretto Sour Cocktail recipe is a riff off the classic Amaretto Sour. I added bourbon and black walnut bitters to the mix for a smooth nutty cocktail garnished with nutmeg.

(scroll down for recipe card)

  • Bourbon
  • Amaretto
  • Lemon Juice
  • Simple Syrup
  • Egg White
  • Black Walnut Bitters
  • Grated Nutmeg

How to Make a Bourbon Amaretto Sour

Prep all ingredients:

  • Squeeze fresh lemon juice.
  • Separate the yolk from the egg white.
  • Grate fresh nutmeg.

First, fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Next, add all the ingredients except the nutmeg. Save that for the garnish. Shake then strain into a coupe glass

The egg white gives the cocktail that lacy foam top.

Amaretto Sour Variations

This recipe is a variation of the Amaretto Sour.

For a classic Amaretto Sour, it is Amaretto, Lemon, and simple syrup.

Some people add orange, cherries, and even soda like Sprite or 7up.
