Banana Nutella Swirl Pancake with Nutella Sauce

Ingredients

For cake:

  • 2 cups Bisquick
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 4 Tbs sugar
  • dash cinnamon
  • dash nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp bourbon vanilla extract
  • 1 Tbs vegetable oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 mashed banana
  • 1/4 cup Nutella

For sauce:

  • 2 Tbs butter
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup Nutella
  • 1 tsp flour

sliced bananas for topping.

Instructions

For pancakes:

  1. Butter a 12 inch cast iron skillet.
  2. Preheat oven to 350F.
  3. Mix all the ingredients together except for the Nutella.
  4. Once well combined stir in Nutella with minimal strokes as possibly. This will create ribbons of Nutella throughout the pancake. I used my Kitchen Aid Mixer with the paddle attachment and stirred it on level 1 for 3 seconds.
  5. Pour pancake mixture into cast iron skillet.
  6. Place in the oven and bake for 15 minutes.

For sauce:

  1. In a small saucepan melt butter on low heat.
  2. Add Nutella and milk and whisk. Turn up the heat to a medium low heat.
  3. Once well combined add flour and whisk together.
  4. Slice cake into individual servings and top with bananas and hot Nutella sauce.
  5. Serve immediately.
