Ingredients

  • 1 package King's Hawaiian Original Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup finely diced yellow sweet onion
  • 1/4 cup finely diced green bell pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 Tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cut rolls in half horizontally. Do not pull rolls apart.

  2. Place bottom half of the rolls on a cookie sheet or large serving plate.

  3. In a large skillet cook ground beef, onions and bell pepper over medium heat.
  4. Drain excess fat.
  5. Turn heat to low and add garlic powder, brown sugar, mustard, ketchup, salt and pepper to the beef mixture.

  6. Stir to combine.
  7. Let simmer for 5 minutes.
  8. Spread Sloppy Joe mixture evenly over the bottom portion of the rolls.
  9. Place the top portion of the rolls over the beef.
  10. Transfer to a serving plate or let pan cool before pulling sandwiches apart.
