In a mixing bowl beat together the 1 cup salted butter, powdered sugar and vanilla until combined.

Add the flour and stir until incorporated.

Spread into a 9x13 pan evenly by pressing the dough into the pan with your hands.

Bake for 15-16 minutes at 350F.

Remove from oven and let pan cool on top of a wire rack.

Run a knife along the edges between the shortbread and the pan.

Flip the shortbread out onto a cutting board.

Cut across the middle of the shortbread.

Then make vertical cuts 1 inch apart. This will give you shortbread "sticks"

In a small bowl melt chocolate chips and 3 tablespoons of butter in the microwave. Stiring every 15 seconds until completely melted.

Set a wire rack inside a cookie sheet.

Dip shortbread sticks into the melted chocolate and use a spoon to push chocolate up the shortbread to desired height. Lift the shortbread out of the chocolate.

Use the spoon to gently remove excess chocolate taking care not to scrap the shortbread.

Place on the wire rack and repeat until all shortbread cookies are complete.

Place in the refrigerator for the chocolate to set.

When chocolate has set sprinkle with the Gourmet Dessert Salts.
