Chocolate Dip

Chocolate Dip

This chocolate dip is so elegant and has a buttery chocolate flavor that is super creamy. This recipe makes a big batch. Make this dip for a party. It makes a great dessert tray accompanied with a variety of dippers. Or it can be used to frost a cake.
I added 2 tablespoons of Starbucks Coffee Frappuccino for a tiny hint of flavor.

Some of our favorite dippers:
Potato Chips
Strawberries
Pretzels
Graham Crackers
Nilla Wafers

Ingredients

3oz semi sweet chocolate chips
3oz milk chocolate chips
2 sticks of salted butter
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/4 confectioners’ sugar
Optional: 2 tablespoons Starbucks Coffee Frappuccino

Directions

Place chocolate in a bowl that can handle heat. Place over a pot of simmering water. Stir chocolate constantly as it melts. See my double boiler method here: Chocolate Dipped Potato Chips

Using an electric mixer fitted with a paddle attachment,
beat the butter on medium speed until light and fluffy.

Add the egg yolk & vanilla and continue beating for 3
minutes. (Add frappuccino if desired)
Turn the mixer to low and gradually add the confectioners’ sugar.
Beat until
smooth and creamy.
On low speed, add the melted chocolate and mix until blended.

Serve at room temperature. Refrigerate leftovers.
