Loaded Chili Mac and Cheese Hot Dogs

This isn’t your regular chili cheese hot dog.  This grown-up hot dog recipe has an all-beef hot dog grilled and smothered in chili mac, onions, and mustard. You might need a fork and knife for this monster hot dog.

I have to give credit to my kid for coming up with this hot dog recipe. He is 5 and like most 5 years olds they are connoisseurs of hot dogs and mac and cheese. The adults tossed in the idea of chili and once we were done imagining our monster cheesy chili dog creation we hit the store.

Ingredients for Chili Mac and Cheese Dogs

  • Hot Dog Buns
  • Hot Dogs
  • Shells and Cheese
  • Chili (store-bought or homemade)
  • Red Onion 
  • Mustard

Chili Mac and Cheese Hot Dogs

Ingredients

  • 1 package of 8 hot dogs
  • 1 package of hot dog buns
  • 1 box Velveeta Shells and Cheese.
  • 1 can chili 15 oz.
  • 1 small red onion diced
  • yellow mustard.

Instructions

  1. Cook shells and cheese according to the package directions.

  2. Add the chili to the shells and cheese and stir to evenly mix.

  3. Grill hot dogs until they are heated through.
  4. Place hot dogs in buns.
  5. Apply your desired amount of yellow mustard to the hot dog.
  6. Top hot dog with chili mac and diced red onion.
  7. Serve immediately.

Recipe Notes

Drizzle on some hot sauce for a spicy kick.
