The Pineapple Upside Down Cake Shot is a simple shot that is perfect for birthdays and other celebrations that call for cake.
One of my best friend’s birthday party was coming up and I asked her what I could bake. The desserts were covered for the party. So instead of dressing up like a clown and blowing balloons I played bartender. I made a cute “Birthday Shot Menu” using picmonkey. The shots were cake shots or sweet shots mostly made from Kahlua, Amaretto, Vanilla Vodka, and Irish Cream. One of the favorite shots of the night was this Pineapple Upside Down Cake Shot. Since it was a hit I had to share it with you guys!
Vanilla vodka is one of the best things that came out of the vodka world. There is cake flavored vodka but vanilla will do just fine. This shot tastes sweet and tropical. It is smooth and the cherry at the end is the best! I have seen this shot made with grenadine but seriously just use a maraschino cherry. The other stuff is red dyed sugar water. Plus alcohol cherries are fun to eat.
Convert to a Cocktail
This shot easily converts to a cocktail. In a tall glass add 1.5 oz vanilla vodka, 6 oz. pineapple juice, and a cherry over ice and stir. When I was shooting the video and pictures for this recipe once it was over I poured everything into a highball glass. I am drinking it as a cocktail right now. It is just as fantastic as the shots.
Let’s get the party started. I do a lot of “house drinks”. These are cocktails I have concocted for a season or holiday. This is a cocktail I make for my guests when they arrive and I make it through out the evening. I usually also have wine and other spirits available. So my point is check out my Cocktails Category and instead of doing the same shot all night have variety. New and super popular: Pineapple Coconut RumChata Cocktail
