When my friend Josh (you may recognize him mixing cocktails on my snapchat ) gave me a bottle of Bombay Sapphire I was thankful but, Gin never had a spot in my liquor cabinet. But that beautiful blue bottle sparkled like a gem and my Gin crush began.
Last month Brandon and I hit up D.C. and placed ourselves in line for the best meal of our lives at Rose’s Luxury. This killer restaurant was Bon Appetite magazine’s Best New Restaurant of 2014. In my opinion it is the best restaurant in the world. Everything I put in my mouth was the best thing I had ever tasted. This included the bar menu. The first drink I spotted was this cocktail. I came home and had to start mixing to get it right. You have to love gin and love grapefruit to LOVE this drink.

Cilantro Grapefruit Gin and Tonic
- 1 sprig of cilantro plus more for garnish
- juice from 1/2 grapefruit
- 1 tablespoon or simple syrup or agave nectar. or to taste
- 1.5 oz. gin
- 4 to nic water
- juice from 1/2 lime
In a highball glass add sprig of cilantro, grapefruit juice, simple syrup and muddle.
Add gin and give a quick stir.
Add ice then tonic.
Top with lime juice.
garnish with cilantro sprigs.
