rozen Cool Whip may not be real ice cream, but with some additions, you can make yummy flavors with less calories. Here’s a fast recipe for Almond Joy Frozen Cool Whip “Ice Cream”.
Can you eat Cool Whip like Ice Cream? Yes, you can and you should. It is absolutely delicious!

I used Frozen Cool Whip instead of making homemade ice cream this summer. It’s faster, easier, and has fewer calories. You can mix in anything you want to make your own special flavor!
Give it a try and tell me how it tastes!
It’s like being at a fancy ice cream shop, but healthier. The texture is different because it’s basically whipped cream, but it’s still yummy.
The recipe is for a full container, but it’s good to keep an extra one in the freezer for when you want a small treat.

Now, What exactly is Cool Whip?
Cool Whip is a sweet, whipped topping sold in tubs, made from a combination of water, hydrogenated oils, high fructose corn syrup, and stabilizers. It’s not technically ice cream, but when frozen, it has a creamy, airy texture that makes it a perfect base for no-churn ice cream recipes.
Unlike traditional ice cream, Cool Whip ice cream is lighter and requires no ice cream maker, making it a fast, foolproof dessert option. You can mix in anything from chocolate to nuts, candies, or fruit to make your own unique frozen creation.
Top Tips for the Best Cool Whip Ice Cream
- Toast your coconut lightly to bring out the flavor and it adds a nice crunch.
- Fold in fudge gently to keep beautiful chocolate ribbons without melting your Cool Whip.
- Serve slightly softened for easier scooping. Let it sit at room temperature for 5 minutes.

Cool Whip Ice Cream Flavor Variations
One of the best things about Cool Whip ice cream is how easy it is to customize. Though almond joy is definitely my favorite, here are some other flavor combos that the rest of my family really like:
- Chocolate Peanut Butter Swirl: Fold in ½ cup mini peanut butter cups and drizzle ¼ cup melted chocolate for a rich, indulgent treat. It kind of tastes like my no-bake peanut butter bliss balls.
- Cookies and Cream: Add ½ cup crushed chocolate sandwich cookies and 2 tablespoons chocolate chips for a classic flavor everyone loves.
- Mint Chocolate Chip: Stir in ¼ teaspoon peppermint extract and ½ cup mini chocolate chips for a refreshing twist.
- Tropical Coconut Mango: Mix ½ cup diced mango and ¼ cup toasted coconut for a summery, tropical flavor.
Let me know what was your favorite!
Tip: Keep the mix-ins small and fold gently so your Cool Whip ice cream keeps its light, fluffy texture.
