Holiday Cocktails: Tropical Holiday Cocktail

Loosely based off the Pain Killer Cocktail this Tropical Holiday Cocktail is a boozy blend of pineapple, coconut, and orange juice with nutmeg, spiced rum, and whipped cream.

Tropical Holiday Cocktail.

Let me explain how I came up with the name of this cocktail. It has cream of coconut, pineapple juice and orange juice. Pretty tropical right? Then there is the whip cream, nutmeg, and spiced rum that gives this cocktail a holiday flavor.
This cocktail is loosely based on the Pain Killer cocktail, which if you drink more than one you would really need pain killers the next morning!  This drink is served shaken over ice or you can blend it with ice for a frozen drink.

I make this drink just as seen above. But when it is time to drink I stir in the whip cream and nutmeg so it is completely mixed in the drink. It makes it so creamy and delicious.

If you love cocktails with pineapple juice check out my Pineapple Upside Down Cake Shot that can easily be turned into a cocktail.

Let’s get this party started with the recipe.

Tropical Holiday Cocktail

Ingredients
2 oz spiced rum
2 oz orange juice
2 oz pineapple juice
1 oz cream of coconut
cream whip topping
2-3 dashes of ground nutmeg
1 maraschino cherry

Directions for Shaken over Ice
Combine all liquid ingredients with ice in a cocktail shaker. (Don’t have a cocktail shaker? see notes below)
Shake well and pour in a glass with ice.
Spray whip topping on top.
Sprinkle with nutmeg.
Top with a cherry.

Direction for Frozen Cocktail
Combine all liquid ingredients and 8 ice cubes in a blender.
Blend for 30 seconds or until smooth.
Pour into a tall glass.
Spray whip topping on top.
Sprinkle with nutmeg.
Top with cherry.
Serve with a straw.

Notes:
If you don’t have a cocktail shaker you can use any drink container that has a lid. I use a sports bottle. Your friends may make fun of you at first but when they have their first sip of this cocktail the jokes will stop.
