When buying asparagus at the market check the tips. If the bunch has slimy mushy tips don’t buy them. Yuck!
Like anything else, the fresher the better.
When you get your asparagus bunch home put them in the refrigerator until you are ready to saute them up. This will keep them nice, fresh and sturdy.

Garlic Sauteed Asparagus Recipe
Garlic Sauteed Asparagus
- 12 oz.to 1 lbs of fresh asparagus
- 3 TBS salted butter
- 1 heaping tsp of minced garlic
Cut off the tough ends of the asparagus.
Heat your cast iron skillet on medium heat.
Melt butter in the cast iron skillet.
Add garlic and stir in. Cook for a minute.
Add in asparagus and toss to coat with the butter and garlic.
Cook for 3-4 minutes.
