Croutons are simply seasoned toasted bread cubes. They are super easy to make and once you have tasted them you will purposely let your bread get stale so you can make them.
Whenever I am at the market I always grab a baguette. I never really have a plan for the loaf but they are always nice to have on hand. Bread goes with everything. Sometimes the loaf gets pushed off to the side and gets kinda stale. Instead of tossing it I either make this Banana Bread Pudding or make croutons.
Once you get this basic recipe down get creative and add different seasoning.
- 1/2 loaf of a stale French Baguette, cubed
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1 tsp Italian Seasoning blend
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
